ctr cams on a pr3 head rocker scarring?
I noticed that some pr3 (b16a) heads first gens have a problem with ctr cams. The cams would coil bind the valve springs and scar the rockers and the cams. I was wondering why it only does it on some pr3 head and not others. Also I noticed that second gen heads are less likely to have that problem.
Ive had GSR cams in my 1g B16a for almost 3 yrs. Granted, they arent the aggressive cam that the CTR is but I have no excessive rocker arm wear. The motor has probably 120k on it. My .02
The b16a gen 1 head in question does have dual valve springs on the intake side. And thats where only the scarring on the rockers happened. Maybe to stiff of a spring...(it's not the stock valve springs). The springs are extremely stiff...turbo valve spring on a high lift setup=
