this might be a stupid question but i still have the OEM rims and lugs and acura lug locks on my car. i ordered some rims and i was juts wondering is it necessary to get new lug locks for em? (im deployed right now otherwise i would have just tried it out) i have the Velox VX8 and they are goin on my 01 Intgera. if i do need to get a new set, what would you reccommend?

I believe you will have to get both a new set of lugs and locks. The OEM wheels have seats that are designed for the "acorn" style nut (kinda rounded), while aftermarket rims generally use the tapered style.

Mis-matching lug nut style and wheel style will prevent the nut from completely seating in the lug hole. And this can lead to damage and possible loosening.

ok, so what would you reccommend i get as far as lock lugs? i don't want to get the cheap ones from advance. thats cuz i use to work there and i know for a fact that 2 of the series have the same locks. i would reccommend that you go in and play with them sometime if your bored.

so whats a good brand? a company that has a good rep and def has different keys for each set.

Actually the Honda/Acura lugs are "Ball" seat not acorn. You are correct in that they have a round seat as oopose to a flat or tapered like most aftermarket wheels.
