I don't want to mess with this unless it doing nothing about it wil llead to more problems. Basically, exhaust manifold stud, the one on the left snapped, can it lead to more problems? if not, do i still need to replace it?

 

yes, it WILL leak. For example, I was helping a friend put a header on his B16 '99 Si (same head casting actually as ITR I believe) and we found that the previous owner had worked on the car and did not put one of the nuts back on. There was carbon all over the head and block.

 

Yes it can and yes, eventually it will.

 

thanks.. i'll try to tap it out again, first attempt didn't move it at all. i don't want to remove the manifold but i guess i'm gonna have to.. hopefully nothing else snaps while i'm at it.
