Hey all
my 99 automatic sedan has a metalic rattle when in gear and not when in park, any ideas what it might be????

 

Might not be the tranny, Accords seem to have some issues with the heat shield's on the exhaust coming loose. Have a TRUSTED friend sit in the car with the brakes on and have him put the car in drive, then take a piece of wood or something like that to push on the heat shield, it runs along most of the exhaust starting after the Catalytic converter. HOpefully this is the problem. You can either remove the heat shield or re weld it back together. I was an idiot and I put a hose clamp to hold it tight, this caused a rust problem and eventually a leak. Good luck!

 

I just bought my 99 last Monday and it has that noise not looked in to it yet, but might start there. Thanks
