Default Can someone help me find a ******* GASKET FOR MY HEADER?????

Ok, i bought this 4-2-1 2-piece header off of D Six, and it was all good. Sanded it, repainted it, got ready to install and i cant find a gasket for the middle, where the A-pipe and B-pipe come together. OBX wont sell me one. Ive searched every autoparts store within 50 miles of here and nothing. Nothing that they sell can handle the high heat. 700 degree is the highest ive seen and im pretty sure this header gets hotter than that. If anyone can help me out please do. Im ******* desperate here. If there is not where to buy one from...any ideas of what i could make one with??

Is it an o-ring gasket, or just a flat gasket that gets crused between the flanges?

Go to a muffler shop and have them find one for you. Can't be more than 10 bucks.

its a flat gasket, i got the header for cheap and this is temporary until i boost this summer. I didnt want to fork the cash for a DC. But back to the point, its a flat one that gets crushed between the two pieces if the manifold.

Dont they sell gasket material at Autozone and all you have to do is cut it to shape?

If its only temporary, what the hell do you care if the gasket isnt rated for 1200 degrees? Whats the worst that will happen, it cracks after a few months and you cut another one from the gasket material that you bought at Autozone a few months before?

I actually tried to buy this from autozone but my location never heard of it nor did they have it. I just ended up buying the gasket material off the net.

check http://www.mrgasket.com

*edit I bought it from http://www.summitracing.com

worse comes to worse, u can make it a one piece by welding them together. I take my header out as a whole piece instead of separating them anyways.

Had this same problem too. I ended up making my own gasket from two seperate ones. Then it blew out so I had it welded together. Worked out fine
