Can oem rims be drill out to use aftermarket lugs?

I want to get a set of Rays Dura-Nuts for my VX rims so I can ditch the stock heavy *** steel lugs? Would I have to bring them to a machine shop to have it drilled with the tappered contour instead of the beveled edge? Do you think a tire shop could do it? I just don't wanna use it as the way it is and wreck the lugs and have the chance of a accident from them getting loose from how they sit in the rim and loosening up while driving.
The primary technical benefit you are going to get from going to those lighter nuts is less unsprung weight. Which I'm thinking 99.999% of the people in the world couldn't feel the suspension responding any quicker from. Since the lug nuts are so close to the center axis of rotation, any benefit from less rotational mass will be pretty negligible also. If this same amount of weight was at the outermost part of the wheel/tire assembly, yeah, I could see a more noticeable benefit.
I would be concerned about the drilling of the OEM seat to make it accept a tapered nut. Most of the OEM alloy wheels I've seen have a steel seat insert. In the process to get to the right taper, you might remove most/all of this seat insert. Or you may not have enough to begin with, without enlarging the stud hole. I think you'll have a hard time convincing a wheel shop to do this due to liability concerns. A machine shop might...
If you're really set on wanting the lugs, you could try Spoon, apparently they make a version of the "tuner style" lug nut for OEM Honda wheels: http://inlinefour.com/spoonanlugnu.html (Gunmetal color only...)
