Default what would cause this? (help fast please)

ok, when im driving, or starting off in 1st, or any gear, if the rpm's are below 3300 or so, if i push the pedal down 1/4-1/2 or more, my civic just boggs and gets no power...what would cause this?
i was recently told that i need a new distributor/plug wires and possibly plugs...could this be the cause of it? or something else? after 3300 its usually fine..? please reply fast, thanks

Does it happen at full throttle or just partial like mentioned...

if it breaks out of it at full throttle it's most likely the O2 sensor...

If not it's probobly what was mentioned above...

If I were you I'd replace the Cap/Wires/Plugs and fuel filter...

If it does break out of the bogg when you floor it try un-plugging the o2 sensor.. this will stop the problem from happening all together... if unplugging the O2 does not make it go away that's not your problem.

if unplugging it DOES make it go away.. you either need to replace the O2 or check the wiring if it's been hacked.

My O2 needed extension so it's hacked this same problem happens intermitently. It's due to a faulty read of the O2 sensor.

Right now a buddy of mine has the same problem that you are having. And yes it is the dizzy because last night we took it apart and took a wire brush and scrubbed all metal based connections and now he can finally pass 3k but take in mind you will need to change you cap, rotor and wires. Let me know if it works, or if you want to make sure ask one of your buddys to let you borrow their dizzy and try it on your car and check.

Well, its most likely a fuel issue. Thats all I can tell you from here. Does it have gas in it? (troubleshooting, hah)

oh yeah, i think it does happen at full throttle too. i think its the distributor, i was having some idle issues, got a diagnostic, and that what they told me the problem was..i was just double checking because i think its just the problem progressing....but second opinions never hurt...

The sensor itself is in the exhaust manifold...

to unplug it all you have to do is unplug the harness... it should be a 4 wire harness to the left (if you're looking at the engine) of the exhaust manifold.

If it's happening at full throttle then don't bother unplugging it because that's not your problem...

If you've been diagnosed with a bad distributer... CHANGE IT... then worry about any problems after that.
