Default question on main cap bolts for the 500-600hp crowd

how many of you guys are running stock main cap bolts on your high hp engines??

just curious really, I'm at a deciding point in my build on whether to plunk out $150 for the arp bolt/strap kit for my engine or just get some stock replacement bolts for $25.

cant wait to get flamed for this heh. oh and this isnt a honda buildup but I figured there would be a few praises/horror stories regarding skimping on bolts on big hp builds in here to either sway me or stay me.

nah common dude.. how many people on here talk about replacing main cap bolts? just use the stock ones... the rod bolts are the ones that see the most stress, in that case arp is your friend.

put that $150 towards something usefull

lol, ok that's one for each way but I'm looking more for advice from the horse's mouth so to speak.

I want to hear from the people that are actually running this high up in the power range...

They are something i would replace if the crank was removed a few times.
Like any bolt, they can only be torqued so many times before they are prone to
failure. Then when you go to replace them, why not arp.
