Default Did My Tranny Go to Honda Heaven

92 Accord Ex2.2 4 speed auto w/ 202K mi. Was driving home last night and out of the blue the car would not move. Heard a whining and after I stopped for 5 min I could drive it for 1/4 mile and it would quit. I put in a new TCM and changed the fluid( Honda ATF) when I got the car with 185K. Is it dead? Anything else I should check?

Thanks

Cool forum

When you changed the fluid, was the old stuff really dirty and dark brown/black? If the old fluid was original, or even hasn't been changed for a looong time, then you flushed it, it's almost a guarantee for the tranny to die not long after. Of course it could be something as simple as your pump took a crap and isn't supplying adequate pressure to apply the clutches, but there's no way to tell without checking line pressure with a gauge. Plus if pressure is weak sometimes it will still apply pressure to the clutch packs, but not enough to hold. They'll slip and overheat veerrry fast doing that. Either way, sounds like it's time for a tranny
