I am doing searches as I do this, but figure if I dont come up with results I might have some here by the end of that.
I have a 10gal ATL fuel cell and no leaks and everything is sealed but I still get the gas fume smell and I am using 92 oct. This smell is there way after I fill up for gas, it is always there. I noticed today when I took the cap off to fill it up the seal on the cap is cork, and my father told me cork gets tough and isnt good for a sealer. So question is, is that true and how can I go about fixing it? I couldnt find another cap (would prefer one with a gauge, since I dont have any clue other then odometer on how low or not I am). I was thinking of maybe some gasket sealer around it....any suggestions? This was all installed perfect and not some cheapo job. Those who might know the car this was Jorges, space ***** the lunch box on here his old white crx

Fuel cells all have a vent, how is it set up on yours? Maybe that's what you smell? Regarding the cork, sure, replace it (the cork), can't hurt to try. Gasket sealer is probably not a good idea.

I had the vent checked and its fine and runs to a place and sealed behind it so its not able to come back into the car.
