ok the wider the tire the better the grip. 14's wil outhandle 13's any day.

get 195/60/14 (i got them) on your rims now and keep them. they are slightly wider with same circumference and improves handling a little bit more. if you want lighter just buy lighter 14" or 15" rims

excellent choice
you dont want to go more than like 2 rim sizes bigger than stock with lower profile tires to keep performance.

It seems counterintuitive, but Grassroots Motorsports did a test of a few different sizes and consistently received the fastest track times with 17" wheels with five different drivers replicating the results. The tires used between wheel sizes were the same except for the 14" baseline reading.

HX wheels are 14 x 5.5 and weigh 11.75 pounds. I'm also pretty sure you tire options will be a little better with the 14's.
