Most likely the brake switch. The shift lock solenoid will not let you move the select lever without a signal telling it that your foot is on the brake.

theres a switch that your brake pedal actually comes in contact with on the pedal assembly behind the lower dash

Stomp the foot brake and rip back with all your might...That should solve your problem....but it might create others Use technique at your own risk!

Ugh. There's a key sized slit by your shifter. Stick a screwdriver in there and it resets the shifter. That should fix it

Did you just get the car or you had it for awhile and this just happened. How many people drive your car. I am thinking that someone activated your shift lock and you can't deactivate it. I know that without pressing the brake, you won't be moving your shifter.

I had a problem like this and they had to replace the cable or whatever connects the shifter to the transmission. That was 200 some bucks but under warranty

Could be your shift linkage. Check that out probably too loose. Or the connecters are not lined up! I replaced mine on my 90dx because it was too loose. Any time i put it into park and tried to get it out it was very hard to do so.

my girlfriends accord did that her is a 92 auto and it would not shift out of park but if you look at night when you turn the car on look at the indicator on the cluster if the lights are out i found that it was a fuse.A backup fuse r whatever it is.

DUDE what is wrong with all of you? hey have somebody press on the brake and you look at the brake lights if the brake lights dont work which am more than posssitive they dont just have the brake light switch replaced is by the brake pedal, and is bad and it wont let your car come out of park trust me on this one

wat u say newdad?

so to start my car i stick the key into teh shiftunlock and i put it in neutral then i start my car which works fine. Once i start my car, on my cluster, the neutral square lits up as well as the d4 square which goes away in like 5 sec. Is this natural like your accord ?

Hes saying just check your brake light fuse. If that fuse is blown you wont be able to shift out of park without putting the key in the shiftlock hole.

This happened to me to, i was driving around for like a week with no brake lights and i aint even know it.

or the brake switch like cb7vtec said. theres a switch that is on the brake pedal assembly when you step on the brake pedal it activates the switch and turns on your brake lights and also releases the lock up solenoids so that you can shift into drive.
