Our group will be have the track on Friday, May 27th primarily for the instructors to get together and meet, and learn the track. Here are the specifics:

When: Friday May 27th 2005
Time: 8:00 am – 4/5:00 pm
Cost: $40 per car for instructors and event organizers only - send me the money
Agenda – Learn the Track:
-Track time for Instructors / Sponsors /
-Walk the track
-Conduct “Follow the Leader” sessions
-Open Registration for Drivers / Instructors and Guests

One thing to keep in mind is there will be no ambulance on site and only 4 corner workers will be on staff on Friday.

The intent of this day is to get all of the instructors on the same page and answer any questions that there may be.

Friday
8:00 – 10:00 Open Track for Instructors / Sponsors /
10:00 – 11:00 Lead Follow – for paid Students only

11:00 – 12:30 Break for lunch / Classroom for Instructors / Track open to Sponsors

12:00 – 1:00 Walk Track – All drivers are welcome
1:00 – 3:00 Open Track for Instructors / Sponsors /
3:00 – 4:00 Lead Follow – for paid Students only
4:00 – 5:00 Open Track for Instructors / Sponsors /

This schedule is not set in stone, but should be pretty close.

Passengers may ride along with Instructors.

I need for most of the instructors to buy in on this to make it happen. Lead follow sessions for students are at no charge.

Forgive me, but what exactly is a, "Lead/Follow" or "Follow the Leader", that is open to all paid students? Is this in car, or actually walking the course with one/many instructors at one time?? Thanks.

I apologize for the confusion.

"Lead/Follow" will either be:
1. a group (5 or so) of students in their own cars following an instructor in their vehicle around the track in a single file line. Each complete lap the student directly behind the instructor will go to the back of the line and allow the next to be directly behind the instructor for a lap, and this goes on for so many laps,
and / or
2. students in their cars going around the track with no passing permitted with a strictly enforced speed limit

If a student abuses anything in regards to the "Lead/Follow" sessions such as passing, using excessive speeds, etc., they will not be allowed to run during the remaining event - no refund either.

The above may be modified slightly. The intent in regards to the students is to get them familiar with the track layout, where the corner stations are, where the braking markers are, and the flow of the course. This will make Saturday run much smoother, and make the classroom sessions more effective.

The details will be worked out, and all rules will be clearly communicated prior to the event.
