2005 RSX-S V2
Hey,
Has anyone sucessfully put an AEM V2 into their 2005 RSX-S. Aem told me it doesn't fit because it is a different engine - but the majority of parts are still the same.

holy smokes. I didn't think it was that confusing

AEM V2 Intake
AEM says it will not fit because the engine is different (K20A2 vs K20Z1), but I verified on clubrsx ( http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=241317) that it does infact fit.

As long as the piping/engine space in that piping area/and throttlebody-intake hole are the same size, it will fit.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I know - I just thought it was wierd that it 'doesn't' fit the 05's considering everything has to be exactly the same. I guess it has something to do with CARB.

all the mounting locations are the same, the problem you may have is the silicone(or whatever its made out of) connection coupler may not slip over the throttle body because the TB on RSX-S is bigger for 05. also it may just the inner bore diameter that grew for 05. As for the EO number carb sticker , you can always contact AEM, tell them you custom powder coated the intake, and need a new decal(but the new # isnt available yet.). they should send another.
i have a AEM V2 for K20A2 on my K20A3, and it fits the same.

The new 05 does have a 70mm tb now so your automatically shooting yourself in the foot as when the air exits the intake pipe it's automatically going to run straight into the lip on the tb causing alot of turbulence. Also there was a change made in the IM used as well as cams and ecu tuning. AEM is working to maximize the power for this setup with a straight bolt on application. My only beef is that the CAI makes more power becuase they put the filter near the header
My .02 is to spend the money on improving the tires ect
If you purchase an aftermarket header make sure you get stainless as it expels 40% less heat and have it high temp coated.

the internal bore is 70 MM. what is the diameter of the outer rim of the new TB, and what is the measurement of the external rim of the old TB?
if anyone has an 05 RSX-S, Lives in the Orlando Florida area, and would like to test Fit a 02-04 RSX-S AEM V2 Intake, PM me. The only catch is im leaving for kuwait this week, so hurry!

It really does'nt matter your still generating turbulence at the entry to the tb, even if it does'nt run into the lip of the tb the sudden change in surface dirrection will cause airflow to seperate and tumble right into the IM, also intake volume and velocity changes to the negative

you had me thinking about this for a while when you said this, and it made sense at 1st. but now when i think about it your statement is false.
the 02-04 Type S Throttle body is smaller than the 05, and the subsequent AEM V2 intake was designed for this. Now that the Throttle body has grown, it is impossible for the air from this same intake to hit any lip, as the diameter of the 05 TB is larger than the diameter of the 02-04 V2 intake.
your statement would be true if there was a AEM V2 intake for 05, and someone tried to use it on the smaller diameter throttle body found on the 02-04 RSX-S.

thats what i said, it fits. the user above me seems to think that there is a lip from the new "larger" throttle body to create turbulence. the TB got bigger not smaller, so there is no lip.
