ok, yesterday when i was changing my tranny i decided to take off my nasty valve cover and put my nice painted one on. when i was loosening them, i noticed that one was already loose. so i finally got the cover off and the threads where the bolts go in was broken. luckily they broke when i was taking it off, cause both pieces were just laying in the head. i put the bolt back in, but there are no threads for it to grab to....does anyone know how to fix this?????

btw...its a 93 si hatch with a z6

So the hole is stripped out, or the bolt broke?

Hole stripped = retap/helicoil.
Broke bolt = buy a new one.

 

the bolt is fine, but the hole it goes into is supposed to be a complete circle, and the front half of the circle is gone...
