Learning Stick...
So im a chick and my guy friends have gotten me into cars. I started to learn how to drive stick on an RSX but I could definetly use some pointers. Please gimme any tips you've got!
Simple, when the needle touches the red-line, press the clutch pedal down and move the shifter to the right gear, then let the clutch pedal out again. When down shifting, when the revs drop too low, clutch and shift again, except down rather than up. To take off in a stick, push in the clutch and put some revs on the tach by touching the gas pedal, slowly let out the pedal and cruise off. Too little revs and you won't go anywhere. Too many and you will make the tires spin. When at a stop sign or something. Press the brake pedal down to keep you from rolling and hold the clutch in to keep the engine from trying to turn the wheels. You don't want the wheels to turn because you're stopped. (Duh, cory, she's not stupid.) Then just build up some revs and let out the clutch to get going again. With pracitce you will know how many revs are enough to not squeal the tires but enough to get you going.
I'm not even going to try to explain the concept of a clutchless shift to you right now. Wait until i cure the case of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome that i just contracted before getting back to me.
Good luck
Long live the
