Driving my car down the highway it loses its power band if i depress the clutch and push the pedal to the floor it only goes up to 5500 and it redlines at 6000. put carberator on and changed fuel filtes but still have the problem.. It doesn't do it all the time it. just wondering if anyone knows what that might be

 

also the lower the gear i use the lower the rpm band goes. like first will go to 5500 2nd will go to 5000 and third 4500 4 th 4300 and fith 4000

 

do a tune-up, and make sure you're getting proper fuel... you may be running rich or lean... what kind of mileage are you getting?

Werd. Carbs and tune-ups go hand in hand.

 

yeah, my car did this same thing... i ended up with a new distributor...

also, make sure your vacuum advance is working properly... if not, it can cause similar problems
