S2000 F22c vs. Accord F22b1
I was thinking about this the other day when i was at the auto show. What major differences make the F22c have 240 while our 2.2's only 145ish. Other than having 11.1:1 comp ratio and having a 8000 red line. The f22b1 has a bore and stroke of 85mm x 95mm and the s2000 is 87.0 x 90.7. What makes the s2000 have 240hp with basicly the same motor? being a dohc is not going to make all that hp difference
valve angle, cam grinds, higher revs, higher flowing head, higher flowing intake manifold, higher flowing exhaust system, more agressive tuning, red valve cover
lol... red valve cover power...
Anyways... these motors and their flow characteristics are quite a bit different... they are not basically the same motor.
Higher compression, a more efficient head (and then some), more fuel, a much larger powerband, more operating rpm (better r/s ratio), etc... these thing make a big difference in terms of performance.
