im about to purchase new tires at the stock gsr size. 195/55/15. i have it basically narrowed down to these 2 tires. the falkens are 62 a piece and the yokahamas are 61 a piece. plus shippin of course. which do you think is a better buy.

Falken Ziex Ze-512
-says its an all around tire
-360 tread wear

Yokahama avs evs100
-summer tire
-280 tread wear i believe?


i do have a set of steelies and winter tires so havin a set of tires just for summer doesnt bother me. anyone have any experience with either one of these?

edit: or any other suggestions for a tire in that size in that price range?

 

What kind of driving are you doing?

The Falkens recently were rated # 1 by Consumer Reports.

 

well this is my daily driver as well as my way to school. so i do a lot of around the town driving as well as highway. i do want some sort of performance tire for those days when im feelin "froggy". after readin up more on the falken i am leanin more towards that for a tire. seems to be the best of both worlds and will get better tread life than the yokahama. hopefully more than my pirellis 11,000 miles too.
