Injector size question
motor built to 2.0 and still running stock injections and i was told that due to the modifications done that the injectiors would need to be bigger, a friend is offering a pair of 4 40's or should i stay with the stock injectors because car maxes out at 7 grand now with stock. would the 4 40's be suitable for the modification and work with a stand alone system or would it still be too much fuel. thanks for the advice.
It would probably work for boost if thats what you are doing. But 440s are usually too big for your average 2.0l. It's hard to say seeing as how you say nothing about your setup. If it's a 2.0 built for boost making 9:1 compression with some stock cams then yes 440s are way too big running all motor.
yes motor is .84 bore "2.0". Compression is 9:0:1. block is blueprinted and sleeved. plan on boosting but while breaking the motor in the stock injectors aren't able to handle the job, and was wondering what size injectors would give me the performance i need. i mentioned the 440's only cause the were easy to come by. dont plan on spending too much money because turbo kit will most likely come with the correct injectors. just wanted something that i can clip in during this time that would be better than the stock injectors. with a stand alone can i not decrease the amount of fuel coming through the injectors regarless of size as compared to running a smaller sized injector.
The 440's will be fine w/standalone ems.If you need to buy some I would just go right to the 750's.Your better over estimating your need then maxing out the duty cycle later on.With a standalone ems you will have no problem controlling a large injector.

from me - I haven't had any problems with mine. I'd get the 440s first though, and not jump to a higher injector size since I would think you would want an injector made to put out the range of what is needed. As an analogy to what I mean - if I wear a size 10 shoe I buy a size 10 shoe - I don't buy a size 14 shoe in case my foot decides to grow bigger in a few years.

Thanks for the advice I think I wil go with the 440's and see from there what the rest or my work will call for. I appreciate the help. Ill try to keep this updated.
