just turn the **** counter-clockwise and it should screw out from the shift lever

hm...try holding the boot ring while loosening the shift **** so the boot doesn't move with it? It might be a tight fit so hold on tightly.

This is on an ITR? They should not be one piece. At least it isn't on mine.

What year irs the ITR? That's if it is an ITR.....if so is it the Titanium **** or the leather ****......the leather **** you need to push down the boot where the silver ring is... for the titanium just like "type r 01-1063" said turn counter clock wise, but there is a nut on the bottom of the ****, which you can loosen up before twisting and turning... easy enough

check the sig, it's SAYS 98 ITR...

pull the boot down from the shift ****, then turn counter clockwise...quite easy

97-98 and 00-01 have different shift *****/boots

Not to be an *** but to bring up a point, some set their profiles to not display sigs - helpful on low bandwidth connections or for just filtering some mondo images. Also, just because it's in the sig, doesn't mean that's the subject car.

But anyway....back to the subject matter....

I couldn't figure out the lock ring stuff in the manual, so I just unscrewed the lower console and rotated the ****, boot and console as one unit until it came off

When it's off, flip the whole mess over and you'll see how it's *supposed* to work

Yeah, through the boot you can press the retaining clips on the front and rear
of the shift ****. then pull the silver ring down.
