Hey everyone,

This is a tricky one and only happens once in a while.. Have a 2004 EX accord. The car starts fine most of the time. Once in while, I would hear it trying to crank but won't turnover. This only happens once...when I turn the key for a second time, it starts up like a champ. Brought it to the dealer a few times and they told me two things...

1. They were unable to mimic the poblem (all three times)
2. This is normal since the new Accords have a longer crank?!?

Anyways... has anyone experience this issue with their accords? Is the dealer full of $hit? Read a few other posts but they just didn't seem to relate. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

When does it happen?

 

Happens at random times during the day or night...Doesn't matter if the car has been sitting all night or dropping off the drycleaning...

Does it happen when you're low on fuel?

 

maybe and immobilizer issue? the keys on 04 accords have a chip inside them that gets read by the immob. unit

 

Hey everyone,

The dealer called me last night. Apparently, a lot of people are coming in on the same issue. They are saying there may have been a batch of cars with "bad electrical wiring." Told me to bring it in on the weekend for they have a "work around" until they find a permanent solution....

I'll keep you guys updated...
