Question about Coilover Assembly
I'm about finished with my customized coilovers... I have a quick question because I need to make sure I assemble the upper mount in the front the right way.
Basically what I did was convert a set of ground controls for use with a pillowball camber plate. I designed my own upper hat, but the part I'm not sure about because I don't have something in front of me to disassemble is whether or not the upper spring seat is constrained in place. On top of the damper piston there is a step.... The spring seat on things like Teins, Buddy Clubs, etc... is all held in place up there correct? It is not free to travel up and down the piston at all? I think this is right, I just want to make sure before I start CNCing the new spring seats. Thanks...

I gotcha... basically it shouldn't move.... so the way I designed it is right. All I did is sandwich the seat between the camber plate and that ledge and give it no play at all in any direction. It should work fine then... thanks!
