Default I love my 6000K Ultinons!

A friend and I installed my HID's today in the R. All I have to say is "Wow"!! The HID's look great and are extremely bright. My night vision has improved 150% over my old setup (9005 CB modded to 9006). The warmup phase is the best part, I love watching the colors shift during warmup. They go from, deep blue, to purple, to orangish, to white-purple. Compared to my S4's HID these are on par with the OEM system. However the 6000K kit doesn't change color at different angles like my S4's HID does, but that is due to optics only. The 6000K's color is actually more whiteish-purple than my S4's HID's. The best way to describe how the 6000K's look is they look like the new BMW 7-series HID or the Porsche 996's with the Litronic HID system.

The only strange thing I have noticed so far is that my the light on my passenger's side seems to be brighter than the light on the driver's side. We tried re-aiming the headlights, but it still the same. The right side is brighter. Does anyone know why? Anyways, I say if you have the extra cash to buy HID's..get them! They are pricey, but also a great investment.

I seem to have the same observation that my right HID's are brighter than my left. Haven't tried aiming them yet but I was thinking that maybe they are supposed to be like that so oncoming traffic isn't blinded.

What are Ultinons? Is that a brand name?

They are brighter on the right because that is how they are designed.
They make more light on the right side and farther out to the right so you
can see farther and the left side is aimed lower and cut off from the left so
that it does not blind oncoming drivers.
This is all a function of the reflectors in the headlight.

The Ultinons are a brand of Philips. Philips makes the normal HID bulbs which are 4300k which most cars come with. The Ultinon bulb is a 6000k HID bulb which emit more of a blue/white color on the ground. No other HID thats OEM or comes with the car will emit color like this unless it has the 6000k's in them.

I believe they are somewhat new H.I.D. bulbs that are made by Phillips. The bulbs that I have are about 4000-4300k (kelvin). Ultinon bulbs are about 6000k.
