Default My SV650 seat cowl

Just wanted to post the seat cowl that my father and I are making for the sv. The pictures are of the mold which isnt finished quite yet, but I wanted to throw some pictures out there. It started out are the base of a passenger seat with some stiff minicell foam glued on top. Then I shaved it down to the shape that I was looking for.(similar to a TL1000) After I got the rough shape we started with the body filler. then sanded it down. We are going to get the mold made hopefully by this weekend. If anyone is interested in buying one let me know. I will post more pictures as progress continues.

Sorry for the crappy pictures

It's a bit too tall for my taste which is making it seem to not follow the lines of the tail very well. I assume that's the look you were going for though so great job on a DIY

Looks like its going to be a good DIY. The fit looks a little off at the back end of that 2nd picture. If you have the ability to make this mold and what not, why not mold a new tailpiece that goes all the way down under the seat.

im going to add more to it so it meets the tail piece better. Also I want to be able to switch back to a seat, so im just making a swappable seat cowl

i think he meant too tall as in its more of a radial shape than the lower part of the tail.if you made it less of a curve then the lines would be better, but its your design. maybe just even 1/2-3/4" might make a noticeable diff.

No chance captain. I think the bubble looks good. The line where it meets along the top of the body piece looks like it has a gap towards the tail end of the seat cowl.
