Default Rollcage for autoX???

Will a rollcage or rollbar help autoxing in anyway performance wise? Hope to get some answers from people that actually have experience with this. All I know is it will stiffen the chasy up quite a bit......

I had a bolt-in bar in my Integra. I think it makes the rear end a bit more flickable, but the advantage would be undermined by the extra weight.

A lighweight rollbar might be beneficial in a sunroof, convertible, or targa top car. In a solid car, the gain would most likely be offset by the additional weight. It would really depend how flimsy the chassis is to begin with.

Listen to WRXRacer111...he knows what he is talking about...he is a good friend of mine and knows his ...I drove his Integra at autox events and what he says is true...good luck and if you want to race in some events I think a rollcage is required...peace

Pretty much what everyone else is saying. It does stiffen up the car to the point that you know it's there the first time out with it, but it also adds weight. Pick your importance.

I noticed a nice improvement in rigidity in my '91 Eclipse. But then again, it has the rigidity of a bowl of sphagetti. Of course, I did end up winning a state championship in '99 in that car, beating a future H-stock prosolo champion....

yeah that about sums it up for Auto-Xing IMHO too. If you ever get to the point of rolling in Auto-x then maybe you should take a class or something??

I don't know what class you'll be running in, but if you have a competition seat + harness, you'll definitely want to have a roll-cage.

Before this tread turns into something that's not even close to what I'm asking, Let me make this clear again. I just want to know will a cage or a bar help in any (PERFORMANCE WISE) and how will it do by stiffen up the chassis in autox....Better responds? Faster turn in? Rear more likely to turn like WRXracer said....etc...Autox is all about light weight, will the trade off worth it or not? That's why its a tough decision for me to make. Come on guys...give me some real answers.
