coolant temp dash indicator always reads cold when driving
i bought a 94 gsr.. the cluster was busted the speedo didnt work and the coolant temp indicator always read cold.. i replaced the cluster with a known working one. speedo works fine but the temp indicator still reads cold. if you let teh car idle in one place for a whle it will get up to proper temp which is almopst near the middle half way point but as soon as you start driving especially in colder air it starts to go down again. i dont get it, i cant figure it out.. anyone ever seen this before
yeah my car is like that right now, as long as it's not always hot, then its ok to drive around until you replace your tstat. colder is better than hotter.
tstat is cheap anyways, just make sure to buy a new gasket also.

one thing about this i dont understand is if the thermostat was stuck in the open position wouldnt the car eventually wamr up to full operating temp?? i mean if i drive the car for over an hour it still reads cold until i come to a stop and idle for a few min.. does this still sound like a thermostat stuck in the open position?
