EF8 vs EF9 hood ?
hey guys,
want to know if the jdm SiR civic and crx hood are the same
for some reason my hood latch wont line up on my crx but ive lent the hood out to a buddy before and it fit right in for his civic
so im wondering what's wrong here?
both cars are usdm with jdm front ends (one civic, one crx)
dunno where my hood is from anymore...
also the hood dint come with a latch, i switched it over from my usdm hood.
if that makes a diff....

Or get a late spec ef6,7 rad support (90-91) then it bolts right on. Just have to add 2 washers onto the hood latch to push it down some.
Or mod your stock one.

sir rad support does nothing, you need to modify your hood or have 5000 washers on each bolt of the radiator for it to work. IMHO you HAVE to modify your hood to keep a clean look
i have the ef8 rad support and it sucks *****
all it does is have a stupid airduct
anyway so should i mod the latch by taking a dremel to the 2 bolt holes and just bolt it up to line with the rad support
that should work right?
anyone know if any usdm rad support would work to make it bolt up?
any hatch ones or something?
thakns guys for the answers
amybe a lil info on how u guys did it would be helpful

No u dont.
For a crx, the rad support does not work. If you want to have a flush rad support you HAVE to modify the hood. If you want a rad support with 50 washers on each bolt for the hood latch to be flush you DONT have to modify the hood.
If you know of some alternate way, please tell me, no really i would because i dont want to waste my rad support that doesnt work on my sir. Please really......

you really shouldnt doubt people when it comes to this since it has been discussed many times.
i for one, have the radiator that requires absolutlely no modifications. The part comes off a sohc bodied EF with the si-r style front end. Which is what were trying to accomplish. The dead giveaway when looking for this part on the front cuts that show up in the usa , is the fact that it has a si-r front with no vent on the radiator support.
take a look at this and compare it to your si-r and your stock usdm one. you will notice that the hole is about a 1/2" to 1" towards the front of the car.

I have a SIR hood on my 91 crx with stock support....

i am going to doubt anyone I want, I have an sir front end, I have a sir hood, i have a sir rad support. Why would i get a bogus rad support that doesnt work? The only reason I say it wont work is because i live and learn. I must have gotten a bogus rad support for it not to work like everyone says.
