Default Theft Rate of RSX...

Hi all, i currently drive a pretty modded '99 gsr. The theft on integras in the area is crazy. I'm in the process of either going turbo or selling it and getting a brand new '05 type s. My question is how often are rsx's stolen? I believe the imobolizers should cut the theft rate down a little? I really like the Honda scene, but if i have no choice.. i will get out of it completely. Thanks for the input guys/gals.

i've heard of a few rsx's getting stolen, but they were taken on flatbeds and stripped. the theft rate is no where near as much as the previous gen integra.

Theft rate is pretty low, they have auto fuel cut off.
I've got an 03 Type S with 23xxx miles, black with Injen SRI and HKS exhaust for sale if interested. Asking 17,750.

nothing stops a tow truck. any security system including the immobilizer can be bypassed. it's just a matter of how much trouble the thief actually wants to go thru to do it.

if a thief wants a car, he'll take it, doesnt matter what it is.

For 2002, the RSX ranked 88th out of 205 vehicles. 95 RSX were stolen out of 42,800 that were registered in the US.

Considering the Integra ranked near the top for all model years 94+, the RSX is much less likely to get stolen.

One thing that stands out though, is the RSX is one of the most expensive cars to repair after a theft - so the insurance rates are still pretty high on theft coverage even if the car isn't as big of target.

The stats come from: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/...l.pdf

rsx left rate is nowhere near the DC2 and not even close to ITRs, even though its the honda motor of the future..

I think the only way to steal a rsx is to use a flat bed truck??

Lets not forget car jacking.

As long as someone has access to the keys, it's easy.

hmm, yea since b series are in high demand, since they're on the verge of instinction. Well i would like i-vtec compared to vtec. How well do K series stand up to turbo? Better than B series? I think i'm going to test drive the new '05 type s and see how i like it. i always wanted 6gears in my gsr . It's a shame, they should have equipped the rsx with lsd.
