someone help please
ok i just ran into a problem with my CRX.
UPDATE
I think my dizzy just went out (which left me stranded). Does no spark mean the dizzy is bad? Someone help me out please
Just to fill you in i recently put in a DOHC ZC and i'm having minor problems but nothing to do with this i'd hope.
Today (just a few minutes ago) i tryed to drive off to get dinner and it felt like my clutch was slipping. But that doesn't seem right because it goes in and out. Like if i gunned it and really leaned into the gas it doesn't quite "slip" as much as it sounds like it struggles. I remember when my clutch went out on the old engine but it wasn't like this as i remember.
My fear is that maybe i burned out the tranny or something. I can't get the tranny fill plug out for the life of me, so i thought it might have enough oil in it to last me for the time until i can have it taken off by a pro.
So i guess my question is...did i ruin my tranny??? are there any ways to tell if i did? Without having to take everything apart? I really don't want to have to replace anything but i have a feeling i'm gonna have to.
Any help is very great

IF you give it gas does it feel like it's not catching....I had that on my old d series....It happened when the driver gave too much gas and not enough clutch let out.....I never could fix it...I let it sit for a while and hoped it didn't happen again.....It also could be your clutch plate is just kaput..
i don't know if this had anything to do with it but i hit a huge bump (****** truck) kinda hard right before i parked it.
it might have abeen happening before and i didn't pay any attention to it. But it would kinda bog down before and i'd have to downshift. But this is diffrent. Kinda like as if the clutch wasn't fully engaged

bring ur car to a pro and get that plug off and get new tranny fluid and DON"T DRIVE IT. cuz if ur gear lube is nonexistant as it sounds it is ur jus gonna kill ur tranny ur throwout bearing may have **** the bed to. check that and your pressure plate cuz that may have **** the bed too.

Can you get the backup light switch out of the tranny case? If so, I've heard of people filling the tranny case from there. It's slow as hell to fill it that way, but it's better than nothing...

drain fluid and fill though vss hole? just know how much you are putting in.
seems like the fill plug would be easy to get off, and hard to strip or screw up. spray it with some pb tonight, and put a breaker bar on the end of your 3/8 ratchet tomorrow.

ok i hope its gonna be ok. I have no choice but to drive my CRX to work this morning...so i hope it doesn't break down
But tonight i guess i'm gonna try to fill it with fluid through the VSS (i guess thats the thing on top) so wish me luck

What kind of clutch did you put in the car when you swapped the ZC in? (please tell me you put a new clutch in)
I put a brand new OEM Excedy into a friends CRX w/ a mini me swap and the engine put out enough power to blow right through that clutch when you got on it. Had to switch to an Excedy organic.

the guy who i bought it from said it had a newer stage 2 clutch (i cant remeber the brand)
And on another note, it isn't as bad as i thought. I drove to work today and i figured out that it only does it if i don't down shift, or if it does anyother time i can just push in the clutch and then let it out again and it fixes it.

one thing dont put tranny fluid into your tranny. i kno it might sound crazy but put 5w-30 in it. Tranny fluid can mess it up plus 5w-30 is lighter and creates less drag
speed sensor = vss (Vehicle Speed Sensor). follow the cable from the back of the cluster to the tranny. you'll see it. do a search on pulling it. just a c-clip and the rest is very straightforward.
drain the fluid first, and put the plug back on.
the manual recommends 10/30, but use the honda genuine MTF (note the M for manual)- same thing as 10/30 but with some friction modifiers and other little stuff your tranny likes .
fill through the hole w/ the premeasured ammount as spec'd by the manual. (look it up, i'm lazy- about 2.5q)
don't use ATF
do a search on tranny fluid and you'll see what other people say about gm syncromesh and others if you want to spend a bit more money.

Is the car coming out of gear while driving? Thats the best indicator of low tranny fluid. Also, where is the engagement point on your clutch? If its pretty close to the top, try re-adjusting your clutch cable, just to make sure that its getting fully engaged. It could also be that your clutch is slipping because when you down shift, you most likely arent rev-matching, which puts alot of strain on your clutch. HTH
i think the tranny fluid might be ok actually. I heard a car over the weekend with a dry tranny, and mine sounded nothing like it. Also it has no problem going into or staying in gear.
Also... the best way to discribe what is happeneing is the clutch doesn't fully engage. And i think i found the problem, BUT! i need to see a pic or an illistration of what the clutch cable should look like where it meets the arm thingy. I think i might have it on wrong.
And i have tryed a few times tightening the adjuster and it hasn't fixed it yet.
ALSO please explain more about the rev matching. I don't think i'm doing that (self taught maunal driver..i don't know ****

to make the clutch engage sooner / more fully you need to loosen the adjuster nut not tighten it.

Bring it down until you can move the arm by hand about an inch or so. then loosen/tighten to taste from there.
(not the oficial method but that's how I do it)
