Default Dragging the K24 EG...

Finally got to the track with the EG after driving it around for the past 4 months. I've put about 4K miles on it or so and love every mile.

Anyway, made 9 runs on a Friday night in about 2 hours. Best was a 14.9, hopping the wheels until I shifted to 2nd. Didn't have much better luck keeping the tires hooked up all night. Too much RPM's at launch I guess. I havn't raced a car at the drags in about 10 years so getting the touch to just haze the tires at launch was not there. Speed was the same no matter what the time was..93 mph.

Shifted at 7100, just into 4th at the traps...

I did notice it slowing down after a few runs, and then they stopped the action to clean the track, so I thought I'd head home...

I'm making a closed air box to keep the hot air away from the intake so maybe that will help somewhat. I also will be putting taller tires on it to help (has 22.7" tall ones on there now) with the launch. Need to make a bit less torque off the line to keep from hopping...I will also be putting on the Full Race crossmember/strut rod pieces to see if that helps.

Not sure on the exact power of a K24 but you probably outta be trapping a higher mile per hour than that. Plus get the launching down too. Good luck.

Most importantly... have fun.

Can't wait to see what times you end up getting after a few more tries.

BTW, if you still have pics of your shifter setup, you can email them to me and I will post them for you. Send pics to: rotaryfreak3@yahoo.com

Do you have a volt meter installed in the car?

Is the engine properly ground?

Its out of the CRV. It is rated from the factory at 160 flywheel hp. The motor is also in the Element and Accord, but there are slight differences from the CRV motor.

Well the Accord was one of the cars I mentioned, and the K24a2 in the TSX has some very significant differences from the one used in this car.

if it's the crv k24, then those times sound about right... but then again, at the same time, i've seen STOCK b16 swap do mid to low 14s @95-96 mph. the 93mph trap speed seems about right.

time for a k20a2 head, brian!

He has the accord k24a with k pro. made around 160whp/160tq. Everything is stock. Even has A/C.

Cams are almost out for the k24a... Hoping to bring these motors up to 190 with tuning and even 200 with a better manifold.

That motor doesn';t have the type s/type r/tsx style head. The cams do not have the extra lobe.
