I have heard that fuel cutoff is at 8600 in our cars but i do not know this for sure. I have tried to hit fuel cutoff many times but can't seem to get the ***** to do it. I figure my tachometer is off. I have taken my car up to 8800 rpms (indicated) but still no fuel cutoff. I dont get it. When the car was dynoe'd we took it to 8600 (indicated) but it only showed up getting to 8200 on the dyno sheet. What gives?

I think mine cuts at 8800RPM as indicated on the stock tach.

I always take it up to 8800-8900 and I have not hit it yet but I'm probably a millisecond away.

That is correct. I just bounced mine off the limitor this evening and the VAFC said 8595 (or something like that).

 

What may cause the tach to be so off? Just curious.

 

i have no clue. i'd figure the ecu would be keeping it in order. i duno...

 

Yeah, I was wondering why it would be off. I figured it could just be his car and possibly his mods, but you all seem to be experiencing the same problem.

all Type R's (G3) are 8600 FUEL CUTOFF.. indicated will vary (mine is 9000 even)
