Default $6,000. Enough for a K20 in my EG all said and done?

Yup, I searched and I dont think I'm searching for the right thing.

Heres the deal. I was going to go B16 turbo but I been thinking pretty hard now and figured that for the price of a built B16 (sleeved, pistons, rings, rods,...etc) and the turbo kit its going to cost me around $6500-$7000 with hondata. I already have the hondata s200 with every option, rc 550 injectors, and a 99 B16 55k miles with little mods.

I figured that for around the same amount I can go K20, be almost just as fast, and reliable n/a.

Can anyone from experience tell me their situations and how they went labor and money wise. I know you need a few misc parts like mounts, axels, shifter box, and shifter cables..etc. Also, anyone in the NJ/PA area that would be willing to help out for some cash?

Thanks.

I'm going to sell the B16 if I decide to go K20. Selling my B16 will be part of that $6,000. Along with selling my hondata and injectors.

I got a complete RSX-S with less than 10,000 miles on the clock off of eBay for $5000. After parting it out and keeping absolutely everything I wanted, the engine/tranny/mounts/shifter, etc. only cost me about $2000.

The entire conversion with mounts for an EG/EK, fuel mods, header, ECU flashing and such costs about $2000.

That's under $6000 if math has yet to fail me today.

Now if you want K-Pro, that's another $1000, but you have full standalone. Another $2000 and you have the IPS kit and you make 250whp and 180wtq NA. Do it.

I would also recommend the K24 block for about $500 (direct bolt-on, every junkyard has them) as it gives you another 20 wtq through the entire rev band.

yes, 6000 is plenty to get a K20a2 (type s 200hp 6speed) installed into a eg
motor was 3100 shipped, made the harness, fuel lines (left over from the fuel system on other car), intake (left over from charge piping) hasport mounts go for around 500, header 300-900, custom axles 120, either rsx r computer 250-350 or Kpro 800. And alittle more for misc sensors and parts for example coolant temp, rad. hoses. So 6000 is deff possible.

What is involved on the labor side if you can't do the install yourself?

K series into EG chassis wont be cheap.
Cost will be around $8000-$10,000

If it cost less then $6000 to have full K series swap into an EG, I bet most H-T member would have gone that route already.

$8000-$10000. You sure about that? That seems kinda high bro. As for the $3100 shipped? Was that just the long block?

Parts list would be nice also. This is what I gathered so far.

K20A2 - $3,500 <--- Logical Guess
Hybrid-Racing Mounts - $600
Hybrid-Racing Wiring Harness - $350
Hybrid-Racing Axel’s 400WHP - $700
GE Fuel Rail - $125
Revo Shifter Box - $125
Hybrid-Racing Clutch Lines - $75
K Pro - $1,000

Feel free to add to the list.

Sell my swap and get a loan from the bank. Sum up $6500 really fast.

really im amazed that this topic keeps coming up there are TONS AND TONS of info on this, the complete lay out of what you need and the average cost of what you need always. Your list is lacking i will tell you that much.

nikos
hybrid-racing

have both posted TONS of info on this swap searchis your freind.

as far as cost your always going to be able to find some one who did it for cheaper or got a better price on one thing or another. what "Archidictus" did is the best way to go but thats saying you have the space to keep an extra junker around, and the know how how to get it all apart. Fact is alot of people don't meet those requirments, and if your in california good luck trying to get ride of a bar shell, scrap yards here will CHARGE YOU TO take them, it yest to be the other way around.

I'd say the average cost for this swap is 7-8 thousand.

Your post like my name is somewhat invalid due to the fact, not every day someone is going to run across a deal for an entire RSX for $5000, if people were no one would be bothering getting just the engine and transmissions for around $3000

Now, Alberto on here is selling K20s here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1126738

Put K20 into recent/archived and it pops with information, even more if you change it to "posting bodies, instead of topic

I know my list is lacking, thats why I'm asking.

As for hmotors. Good motors, high prices.

Lets not jump off subject guys. Its not just me that wants to know this ****. You can search for hours an still not find out exactly what you need to do the swap. That because when people ask questions, threads always jump off topic and become a total war like I can see this one doing already.

Keep on the topic, dont flame, or start arguements. This is a tech forum, not e-beef.
