Hot naked chicks on my accord!
Now that I have your attention, this post has nothing to do with chicks on my Accord, well at least not yet.
I am posting about the beloved 90-93 CB7 and its loyal following of followers. Let's face it, the CB7 is aging, but yet a very plentiful, reliable, and solid platform. The rage is with the smaller Civics, but I want to point out that you no longer need a Civic to go fast. I am sure that most of you by now realize this already, but for many newcommers, the Accord may be their very first Honda (because of its availibility) and you may feel like there is only limited things you can do to these cars. My intention is to revive an interest in this platform and offer hope to everyone who shares my interest.
Not being cocky, but my Accord should serve as hope to some. I know I put tons of money into R & D, but now that it is nearly finished, the car could be duplicated for much, much less. Never fear. I have found what works and what doesn't based on my limited resources. This should offer even more hope to those who have even more resources now with increased parts on the market. Be wary though some parts aren't "all that".
I would like to find out if there is still an interest in Drag racing in particular using this car. Since the car is aging, they are cheaper to buy. I know that everyone has a Civic and that is what is really the "cool thing", but what if I could prove to you that the Accord can go just as fast? We here at collective racing are developing new parts for this platform. They are long over due, but never to late. Traction control, CAI, Intake manifolds, motor mounts, and othe parts are coming really quick! Our goal is to revive this platform and gain some well deserved respect for our fellow Accord owners.
Basically, what I am posting for is to get feedback from you. What interests do you guys have in this platform, what parts would help? Are we losing interest in this car since it is older? I feel that NO, is the answer, but the industry seems to have forgotten the older Accord. I want to change that. But I need your help.
I would like for every member who reads this to add your own input not to just move to the next topic. I want to know if looks, handling, swaps, racing.... whatever is your interest, I would like your perspective. Please post a comment about your feelings about what I am attempting to do.
respectfully,
Scott

so where are the chix?? jk, i appreciate you taking the time to type out that l0ng post and i dunno how everyone else here feels, but i wouldnt dare switch to any other car. about the market forgeting about us, everytime i look for a part for my car, i usually find it within minutes (except all amber bumper lights for a 91). you speak the truth when you say your car inspires others, and unless your giving out free money, your efforts will go unnoticed
i <3 my cb7

Thankyou to those who have participated so far. I honestly was expecting a little more response in this forum, but I guess that goes as a testament to the CB7's following here. Come on guys... don't let this last statement come true<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> "and unless your giving out free money, your efforts will go unnoticed</TD></TR></TABLE>
hey, since most suspension pieces between 4th and 5th gens are interchangeable.....so it would be nice to see adjustable sways, bars that actually stiffen chassis, etc.....

2point6.... only you could get me to read a post that long and drawn out
I (not wanting to sound like a total ******
) love what you've done with your Accord and what you're trying to do for the marketplace. M@d pr0ps!!!
Things that I would like to see for the Accord's... good, solid performance products for the F22 (vtec or not). I know your's in an H22 but I love my Accord exactly the way the Honda Gods intended it to be. It's too hard to find ANYTHING for the F series... it's been overlooked for too long.
I also want to see more suspension pieces. Sway bars, 1 piece strut bars, quality lower tie bars... sure you can find all this crap on eBay, but that's just what it is, CRAP!!!
Anyway, I've rambled enough. Just keep doing what your doing and keep making us Accord die-hards (owned 3 accords thus far and will <U>never</U> buy a civic) proud

the new si's sound like a pretty good buy - price tag, but i agree. as long as there are quality 4th and 5th gen accords around for cheap, im hooked. and 2.6 i didnt mean to sound like an *** or anything. i dont even really kno wat i meant by that statement but its jus with ebay around, there are a lot less ppl willing to buy quality (expensive) parts instead of hittin up that "cold ram" intake for 9 bux. good luck with everything you do

So far this has been almost a unanimous request. You didn't sound like an "***" at all. Your opinion matters as well. I appreciate the input and agree with you. A lot of people settle for second place because first place is too much effort. I am looking for the people willing to put out the effort. these parts are intended for the "next level".

i would have to agree a cam is the real big missing ingredient for f22s. its very dissapointing to drop money into performance parts for this motor only to see a few hp. i really want to turbo my f22b1 instead of an h22 swap, but fear the HP ceiling will be too low without good aftermarket support for this motor even with a reliable 6-8 psi making around 220 WHP. sure, there are factory regrinds available, but if i spend my hard earned money for a cam i want it to ring out every horsepower possible and max out the power band. someone needs to step up, im sure plenty of us would be willing to pay for a good cam for our beloved f22.
oh I got much love for the CB7! I too am wanting to see some better suspension components available, and 2.6 if you get something together let me know either on here or CB7! I'll definatly be one of the many buyers :D (Swaybars, REAR LOWER TIE BAR SINCE NO ONE FREAKIN MAKES ONE THATS WORTH A ****, Strut bars (Only two I can think of that are good are the Cusco and the Nuespeed), hell anything!
I'm picking up some Tein Basics, and gonna try to get some stiffer springs for them... hopefully that'll do the trick for me in that department, but DAMN i gotta get some sway bars, etc.!

What about looks? man i would die for a cf trunk, even a DAMN lip, had to modify mine on (mugen lip) and now its flexing like its gonna break...i'd also like to see more performance for the F22, not everyone has the money to do an H swap, something like cams or camshafts, you know...

If you have any time to look into parts for 5-6gen as well, they have come down in price quite a bit. Anyway, it would be nice to see some more suspension component options as well as lightweight parts to level the playing field.
You have made significant progress with your stroking of H22. Will you have interest in the stock platforms? I think, in addition to your Iceman developments, 11.0 slugs, cams and head packages for f22/f23 would be great.

I would like to see some camshafts made for F22a6 which is non vtec. I am currently getting parts gathered to build one of these and the only camshaft option I can find is a regrind. Their are a lot of parts out there, but it would be nice if their were as many options for us as their is for civic owners. Just my 2 cents.
Yea i would like to see a lot more stuff for 4th gen accords... ive been looking forever and i cant find a decent **** of anything.. i would like to see more cams, cam gears, different body kit converision, light conversions.. and especially make a damn SHORT SHIFTER that would work instead of that damn adapter becuz i tryed it and it blows ***.. plus id like to see more suspension **** swaybars/strut bars etc.. and like many others said ppl do not have $$ for the h swap like myself.. i would love to supe the **** out of my f22b1 .. thanks
