Default gauging interest on a CF part...

We've all seen the MajorHavoks headrest windblocker...

http://www.ricks2k.com/product...ckers

i was wondering if anyone would have any interest in a CF blocker to go in there rather than clear lexan. I have been working with composites alot lately and the thought just crossed my mind. i have yellow kevlar for SPA owners also..

i am probably going to mock some up shortly and install them and take pics on my silverstone.. just have to wait for the weather to get warm so i dont' crack the window putting the top down.

also, i've been trying to come up with an inexpensive alternative for the aeroscreen for 2000 owners who don't have the OEM mounting kit like myself.
that obviously wouldn't be CF, but lexan with maybe a trim around it or something, and hopefully could utilize some OEM locations to mount w/out spending 200+ at hardtopguy for them.

yea what would you be interested in?? i am a materials science major at Michigan State Univ. and I work at a company that designs vehicle armor and does structural composites as well. I was just trying to think of something different... there aren't too many innovative things to do w/ cars these days...

but drop me a few ideas.. i'll probably make a few prototypes and send them out to people with different color cars so I can get photos of what they look like on different cars...

that whole center console.... only the plastic parts tho...

this area.... i dunno how large this piece will be tho but it could be cool....

all the plastic around the *****...black and blue parts...

air vent surrounding.....

and also the guage cluster. which has already been done.. but if you do blue carbon or what not it would be different.. ... and maybe also the upper part of the door pannel like the mastergrade one.....

Almost all the parts you listed are already made and can be bought from Mastergrade...The guy said he wanted to do something different?

i dont' like mastergrade.... they have very poor customer service and it takes forever to get your parts.... i would prefer to buy every carbon fiber piece for my interior from the same place therefore they will all have the same weave....

That was before...but lately no one has had any problems with them. Have you ever bought anything from them? Or are you posting just about hear say? Most everyone right now that produces C/F pieces make them in 2x2 weave...so I don't think you'll have a problem buying from different places. The only companies that I know that use the 1x1 weaves are the JDM compines like C-WEST, J's etc...

the headrest things would be cf.. not the wind diffuser in between the headrests.. that would be lexan.. the whole point is for us 00 owners w/out the OEM mounting points.. everyone else is cool on that... but i'd have to pay 215+ at hardtopguy to get the parts for an OEM diffuser.. the head rest things would be able to be seen from behind the car.. just a thought.. i'll start whipping some stuff up next week and post my prgress
