Engine swappers needed (preferably those experienced with swaps on 90-93 tegs).
Going to help the omie pull his motor out of his Da9 and was wondering 1. where are the best places to wrap the cherry picker's chains? (tranny is coming out also).
2.Should I take off the distributor to prevent it from damage?
3.since the AC is still on the block should I take it out first, and what about the exhaust manifold should I take that off for more clearance?
As far as the positioning of the cherry picker, it should be more to the driver side and a little slack should be given to the tranny side so that the right side comes up first correct?
Should I disconnect the fuel pump clip under the back seat or is the removal of the gas cap and depressurizing of the sytem at the fuel filter sufficient?
Your help is appreciated....

This should help you out:
Also, disconnecting the fuel pump clip isn't necessary, because the fuel pump only gets power when the ignition is on. So as long as you don't have the car on while trying to pull the motor... yeah don't worry about that.

1. It's usually a hell of a lot easier to drop the motor out of the bottom as opposed to out of the top.
2. No, that's usually not an issue
3. Pull the A/C belt off, and then separate the compressor from the block. Use a bungee cord or something to suspend the compressor out of the way. This way you won't have to recharge the system afterwards. Regarding the exhaust manifold, it doesn't need to come off.
Regarding the fuel system. I've never seen it be necessary to do any more than just disconnect the fuel line running from the filter to the rail.

If i were you i would take it out of the bottom, i have done a good number of swaps my personal DA swap and ive done EF, DC but the easiest way is to take off the arms that go from your bottom of you control arm to the bottom of you core support it will them be easier, By taking those arms off the crank will clear and make the removal much easier
