welll i searched for it... but i couldnt find it. It's possible I didn't type in the right keywords but I tried.

Im fixing to get a hatchback this Monday and at 1 point the owner told me it was a DX and 1 day im surfing the internet and fell onto his xanga *blog site* where he announces he is going to sell the car saying it is a CX so im real confused about it. Is there anyway i can figure out what it is? The stickers on the back has been removed so help please!! thanks

Well i got enough replies to be able to tell thanks guys ^_^
BUT i have another question now.... Am I able to switch out the headers and cat and exhaust piping from a DX into the CX and will it fit properly? please help ^_^ thank you

cx cluster doesnt have a tach while dx does
cx top speed first gear is 36mph b4 you hit rev limiter dont know dx
i think dx has a clock? while cx doesnt


but easiest way to find out is just drive it
if you can hit 60mph on 2nd its a cx

also just look at the motor stamp
if it say d15b8 its a cx

 

correction....65 MPH in 2nd gear.

 

i wasnt saying 60mph is max

opps yea you right i got it mixed up

vx and si are the ones with tach cluster

so easilest way to check is if you can go 60mph on 2nd

dx doesn't have a clock either

 

well so far.... the hatch doesnt have rear window wipers... and it doesnt have a tach.... so most likely a CX huh =/ that sucks!! well since its a CX i have a question is there anything different about the exhausts pipes? because I want to get an HKS Hi-Power exhaust system for the hatch but it says DX and SI only any reasons why?

 

CX doesnt have the side molding either

 

The reason they dont show a listing for the CX is because the CX has the catalytic converter built into the manifold..just get a test pipe and you will be ok

dude thas about all wrong...

i have a dx....it has no clock, no tach, 1 airbag,...1st gear hits 30 and 2nd hits 62.....so quit saying test the cx by seeing if it goes 60 in 2nd ...becausel the DX hits 60 in 2nd also....

if you wanna know what it is..why dont you just open the drivers door and look on the inside of it ....and read the metal printed label...i think it says there

DX:
-rear wiper
-adjustable steering colum
-d15b7=102hp
-vanity mirror (although mine didnt have one...)
-cargo cover
-steelies

the tach came on the vx and si
rear wiper was on the dx and si and so was the adjustable steering colum
also the cargo cover is on both the dx and si
the si has a light in the hatch along w/ a bigger one for the dome light
si is the only model to have the clock in the dash
si has crusie control, power mirrors, and power sunroof
cx has a d15b8=72hp

The first things id check is the wiper which narrows it down to a cx or vx
then you said it has no tach so yup def the cx... sorry bro..


and as far as i know the exhaust is all the same... but please dont tell me your gonna make this 72hp beast (w/ probably like 60Whp) an unsung hero... swap for a z6 then boost it when you get the chance dude

DX has side moldings where as CX doesn't.
DX has tilt wheel where as CX doesn't.
DX has rear wiper where as CX doesn't.
DX has engine code D15B7 at 102 something crank hp.
CX has engine code D15B8 at 70 crank hp.
Clock and tach were optional an the DX but not the CX.

The list goes on.

well its not that its just i plan on gettin a gs-r swap in sooner or later... a year 2 years? 3 years? its just what i have planned.... after i put in the swap thats what exhaust i want... and to the other reply one said use a test pipe... cant do that... sorry

 

The CX doesn't have side mouldings, while the DX does. The DX & Si have side mouldings that clip into the door via many square holes in the body panel. If sombody says they have a CX, but it has side mouldings on it, take a closer look. They are stick on aftermarket crap. If you peel them up, there will be nothing but paint (no holes). The VX also has no side mouldings.

You can also tell by engine codes. Only CX came with D15B8 (8 valve). DX has D15B7 (16 valve).

CX & VX have the cats in the engine bay. DX & Si have the cats underneath the car.

Correct, it's a much smaller throttle body as well as the intake arm.

Again correct. The sound deadening is missing from under the rear seats, and from the spare tire well.

 

OK, some of you got it right some wrong.

CX has a shift light
no tach
no moldings
no clock
no ps
no pw
no sunroof
no rear wiper
less tar
passenger mirror was optional

DX
Rear wiper (almost positive it was standard, easy to set apart from the others)
moldings
no clock or any other real options
passenger mirror was also optional
I did not have a tilt wheel in my old 92 DX
cargo cover
--------------------
VX
tach
clock (mine had one from the factory)
passenger mirror was standard i believe
no tilt either
few other minor things
my VX was defenitly quieter than my CX

I'm 99% sure you're looking at a CX from your posts.
