Birthday is on the 27th. Wife is picking up my reserved copy on Tuesday and betting I can't wait until next Sunday to unwrap it.
She's probably correct..............I'll be up until 3 or 4 am Wed. morning playing the damn thing.

Damnit! Now I am going to have to break down and finally buy a PS2. They sure know how to hype a video game. I hope that the physics are better GT3...that will be what really sells me.

other than the fact that it's only a video game (you mean I don't actually have 2.3 million?
) I think GT3 is fabulous! it gives me goosebumps to think about how much better GT4 is going to be!

I think that the cars are slow to respond to your inputs and they still drive like "arcade" cars. I honestly liked how the cars drove better in GT2. I mostly play PC based driving sims (LFS, GTR2002, SCR, & GPL). I think that the PC based sims (although they drive differently from each other) do a better job with the physics. I think that the cars respond close to and require the most simmilar inputs from the driver as in a real world driving situation. Of course they are all video games...but I think that the PC versions do a better job of it.
Just my $.02 of course...

I have driven the GT4 demo and the physics are MUCH better then GT3.
Also gone are the pool-table-top smooth race tracks. The tracks now have bumps and dips which add a new element to suspension tuning.
Regardless of the physics improvements, the new wheel from logitech makes all the difference though.
on the other hand, still no sign of tire temps and/or pressure settings.

that sounds awesome. now that you mention it, the tracks are way too smooth. like they pave the track before every race!
in addition to tire temperatures and pressures, it would be pretty neat to have the "brake fade" element as well.

Got my reservation taken care of last week. I heard it's going to play in 1080i. Time for all of you to go get a component cable for your PS2s (it makes a considerable difference if you've got a TV with component inputs)
I find myself with nearly limitless entertainment options...between GT4, World of Warcraft, Half Life 2, and my DVR, I may never leave the house again

Well I hope the wheel is a LOT better with GT4 than it is with GT3. I tried it out last night and today and was VERY disappointed with how the wheel interacts with the older version of the game. The steering is poor at best, and the pedals are both on/off switches.

It's funny you say that. After trying GT3 last night, I've been playing Pro Race Driver instead because the wheel is much better with that one. It's so easy to lock up the brakes though.

GT4=same ol' same ol'. As usual, the AI still sucks, its just one big boring car test drive.
