I ordered my DOHC ZC from them just 3 weeks ago

it would seem that the distributer is out (and I can call them and have them send another, a risk when dealing with used motors) but they have a 100% startup guarantee which means they take their customers seriously.

Otherwise, the engine is VERY clean, everything was shipped very well, nothing was damaged, and they had most of the harness intact. I would do business with them again.

hmotors is generally "good people" you might have a few communication problems with steve on shipping dates and what not but hes a stand up guy when it comes to customer service when you have a problem with the product. they are one of the only shippers that garuntee all sensors to be in working order.

This needs to be in the FAQ.
Yes Hmotors is good and probly the best you can get.
This has got to be one of the most common questions.

Screwed me on a transmission. So they're not completely without risk.

Bought a b16a back from them in 2002. Three years later and it still runs strong with no major problems along the way. A word of advice. No engine importer is perfect and there are risks when buying a used engine. Just don't be suprised if something happens. I am not saying it will but just don't be suprised and then go bad mouth the importer.

like the guy said buying a imported motor is a risk so if your not willing to lose may hopefully not dont but from any importer. I thought this is just some good advice to give

i beg to differ... they are a good place tho ..im buying my sir crx conversion from them..as for motors, online maybe the best but i got a whole front clip for a 94 gsr integra for $2800...SHIPPED! ofcourse i know the owner but sitll D2motorsports here in roseville, ca has some awesome prices and beat pretty much everyone out if they have too..i bought a whole hasport mount kit with hydro conversion for 460 shipped! they werent going to lose to some online place even tho they didnt really make any money off it, they didnt let me down..D2motorsports.com, when it comes to spoon, they have the whole dining set!

I think everyone is reasonably aware of the risks involved when buying used parts. For the record, the transmission they sent was in excellent condition. My problem with them stems from:
(A)padded his "great" prices with ridiculous shipping costs.
(B)changed what was included mid deal
(C)took, literally, weeks(3) to ship something he claimed was in stock. And they can't blame long shipping (four days for actual shipping) times.
(D)he insisted on pita COD
(E)sent me the wrong damn transmission(88 after specifically being told I needed a 89-91)
(F)refused to correct the mistake without me spending more money.
(G)contact was nearly impossible. Emails, never returned. Phone messages, never returned. I was able to reach a person maybe, 1 in 5 phone calls. Not counting when his phone was off and vmail was full. Or when it was out of service.

So based on my experience...not a great seller. Other people have obviously had experiences on the completely opposite end of the spectrum. It floors me that so many people talk the place up while they screwed up my order in nearly every way possible.

Heres a tip on shipping from hmotors. I saved about 200 bucks on shipping by having it shipped to a business adress. I am a tech at a Honda dealership, so it is pretty easy for me, but if you can, have it shipped to a business.

Me too. I had it shipped to my work. Ship somewhere with a forklift and you will save a boatload.

I ordered a Long Block from them not too long ago. Great Service, Clean Engine, came w/power steering pump, and clutch, not sure if other companies do it too, but I wasn't expecting it. Ordered it on a Thursday and it was at the shop where my swap was getting done that following Tuesday. from Cali to Maryland in 5 days is pretty good if you ask me. Steve's a good guy to do business with. I would definitely order another motor from them.
