I have a dohc zc, and when im driving, the tach jumps all over like it is its job....but the motors rpms have no relation to the tach...im gonna guess something in the dizzy, but what? and also its an obd0 dohc zc, what do i order parts for if its int he dizzy? THANK

im not sure if you can get one at autozone, but dizzyking sells the distributor for 220 shipped, the ignitor by itself costs around 170-180, so you might wanna save up and get a new distributor from dizzyking

 

WTF does an ignitor cost soooo much for? also is it gonna get worse, and then just not work anymore, this is a daily, wouldnt want it to die like that...

 

it will just get worse and then die.

check the connections on it though, sometimes they get loose and give the symp. you describe

if not i would just get a whole dizzy instead, they are about the same amount of money

 

yeah, sometimes the wires inside can be arching

 

Anyone have pics of what to look for on the 2 wires that could be arching?
