poor mans R
Do you think the 10.8:1 CR i would obtain with a stock b18c1 and my b16 head milled .030" would be enough compression for my cams? I am currently using crane stage 2 cams, crane dual valve springs and ti retainers, ferria valve locks, adjustable cam gears, port 'n' polish and 3 angle valve job.
I don't really want to put different pistons in b/c the bottom end (of this b18c1 i might buy) was just rebuilt.
I don't want to use pr3 or p30 pistons b/c i want my CR to be 11:1-11.8:1 tops, don't really want 12:1 b/c its daily driven on 91 octane.
Or should i just go with the b18b block with p73-A0 pistons i have sitting in my garage? Poor mans R is appealing to me b/c the block was meant for a vtec head and high revs, it has a block girdle and no machining is required to put my head on it. But the lsvtec is appealing b/c of the torque.
Whats ideal CR for stage 2 cams?
