Default More power to the DX

Want to get some power into my 1990 DX - 1343 single carb

Can I fit any B series engine?

what should I look out for in a donor car?

How simple is it to convert to injection complete with ECU etc?

Thanks from England

Going from carb to MPFI is a BITCH. If you can do it props . That's some hard work right there.

Other than that, the hardware installation itself is not a hard job. Just the wiring.

Yeah, this isn't your run-of-the-mill USDM MPFI swap. If he's running a carbureted car, there's quite a bit more to it. I don't know all the details, but you could probably get some ideas from some of the first-generation CRX owners who've gone from carbs to MPFI. It doesn't look fun.

There ARE carbureted ZC engines, though, which could make your life a whole lot easier. Granted, they don't have as much power as *some* B-series, but they're not a bad little boost over a 1.3L.

thats not a "carb" its just a downdraft throttle body that looks like an old single barrel carb.

You sure about that? Did you happen to see where he's from? There are all sorts of different setups in other markets. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this car is indeed carburated. Think about it, we had carbed Civics right up till 1988 when the 4th gen cars came out. Who's to say there aren't some markets in the world that still have carbed cars?

Thanks men

Begining to think maybe I should at least start looking for a model which started life with injection or a beat up and crashed CRX as large scale donor

I saw a guy once with a 3g crx,he put a 88-91 dx dpfi intake manifold on it and made/bought? an adaptor to bolt on a weber carb, pretty hot looking setup, the adaptor plate was 1/2" thick if that much.
