Default 205's on 13x5's

i know this topic has been posted before, but i couldn't find it via search. i'm thinkin of running 205 50 (race tires) on my stock 13x5's and i was wondering if they'd fit? as far as i know, they won't rub but i was wondering if theyd fit on the rim.

Well, first i dunno of any race tires available in 205-50-13 size. The closest is the Yoko A032 in 215-50-13. The new Kumho Ecsta V700 is available in that size. Both spec a minimum 6" rim. Even the 205-60-13 sizes require a minimum 5.5" rim. About the only size that can be used with 5" rim according to mfg specs is 175-60-13 size. Now, you'll probably be able to mount a 205-60-13 tire on a 5" rim, but it's far from an ideal scenario. But then if you're on a really tight budget... It may just have to do, hehe... But seriously, think about getting at least a 13x6 rim...

I believe Russ Blume ran BFG R1 (not gForce) 205's on 13's in 2000 on his HS Civic S.

Yep, and i know of some CRX owners that have run 215's on a 13x5 rim. Its less ideal than running it on a 7" rim, however it still works.

We run BFG and Yoko 205-60-13s on the stock civic steelies (i think they're 5.5" wide, but might be 5"), and they work just fine. They don't pinch nearly as bad as 225-50s on the 15x6 stock integra wheels, which everyone runs.

The ES National Champ, Rob Carpenter, ran 225/45-13s on his 85 CRX Si stock rims...I think those are 5" wide. Finding someone to mount them won't be easy tho...

No, but it can be done. Some tire shops will look at 205's and a 5" rim and say "nope, cant mount 'em......." but an experience tech or a race/specialty shop will do that for you.

How about a 205/55/14 nt-555r on a stock civic ex 14'' rim?
Does anybody know anything about the falken azenis? They have the look of a sticky tire but i've never heard anything abou them?

I put Hoosier 205/55 on 14 x 5 rims. It's a squeeze... but it works

the falkins are a nice tire. i ran sts last season and we discussed the tire all year. basically, there like a crappy race tire/excellent street tire. kinda like the yoko advans but with an sts legal tread wear rating. from what i've gatherd from speeking to a bunch of people who were running them, if ur comming from street tires, u'll like them. if ur comming from r's, u'll think there a good street tire, but lack the grip of an r. which makes sence cause there a street tire, not an r-compound.

I've ran the falcon zeiks in the past (205/40/16's) and i really liked the performance on dry pavement but when it came to wet (raining out) i wasn't to happy with the performance. The nitto's i have now suck on dry pavement but are better in the rain then the falcons.I'm just looking for a dot drag tire without going full blown slicks with tubes.Reason being you have to have dot approved tires to run T&T at our local track. So i'm going to give up a little traction for the ability to run t&t and get more practice.
One other question Which set-up do you think would be the best for quarter mile racing
1) stock ex rims with 205/55/14 nitto drag radial or bfg drag radial.
2)a set of 15' konig helium (ultra light race wheel) with 205/45/15 nitto drag radials or 205/50/15 bfg drag radials (i'm not possitive but i think that make the bfg's in that size). Thanks
