My R key has an immobilizer chip in it. That key won't work in my R.

Correct link BTW is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...663239&r=0&t=0

You can "Get" the 97-98 ITR Keys to work with the immobilizer

How?
just tape the original factory key inside the steering column cover near the iginition. of course doing this will immobilize the immobilizer

Nope, Just pry open the metal piece on the 97-98 key and cut a square shap out for the chip, Cut open the 00-01 key remove chip place in 97-98 key and epoxy or super glue closed
