Default gsr intake manifold

hey wassup .. got a 98 gsr .. i m pretty sure that if you install a intake manifold such as jg or skunk2 .. it ll make u lose a lot of power in the low and mid range .. is it true that if u improve the valve springs retainer .. it ll help or do u have to bore out the head too .. and also .. how would a racing throttle body help ? .. thanks

it all truly depends on the manifold, i used a skunk2 on my gsr cause it was in a hatch and i didnt want to hookup the IAB and deal with the dual butterfly system.

i did feel a loss in the low end but it made it back up in the top end, 14hp over my other dyno, then i used some ITR cams and throttle body, the cams wer worth 12 and the TB was good for 3. all on a fields vtec controller.

i am positive you will lose with the JG because it really is a high end manifold, and your stock gsr cant rev that high nor will the cams pull that high either.

upgraded valvetrain wont net yo any HP but it will give you the added assurance that you can rev the **** out of it safely, should you buy larger cams or switch manifolds
