Default Might buy a 91' Si...anything I should look for...?

I don't normally venture in here, but I am going to look at a 91' Si tomorrow and may end up buying it. It has 143,000 orig. miles on it, new clutch, and a magnaflow muffler that has the stock appearance to it.
*edit- here is a pic of the car

It's a New Mexico car...the same as a Cali. car(as far as rust goes)

nice looking car, price seems reasonable for the condition of the car. I would go for it if i were you.

tell him 2750 because of the missing center cap. LoL

Actually that is a very clean crx , wonder what the interior and engine look like.

It looks good but I think the price is little too steep for a stock CRX. If you have the money and your desperate go for it. If not, look around a little bit more and try to find one around $1500-$2000 and mod it by your self.

i wouldn't pay over 2400. tell him to keep the speakers. From my experience, crx's have more problems than initially known about. The crx i just had, ended up needing way more than the seller told me about. For example, rear brakes, weak headgasket, oil leaks, rocker rust, etc. I've learned to ALWAYS have a mechanic check it out first, get a compression check. for 3g's a stock crx should be mint

if its really rust-free and it has a new clutch then $3K is a great deal for 143K miles.

Sounds like a good price. I don't know how much they usually sell for over there in New Mexico, but you could get that much here in the northeast with a perfect body like that.

Get it! But seriously, i wouldn't pay more than 2,500 for a MINT CRX. You should go with a pen and paper and record EVERY LITTLE THING you can see or hear that might lower the price a bit. For example...bald tires, scratches, dirtyness, rips in the seats, scratches in the interior.

Go for it. From the looks of it, it looks like a very clean REX. You won't find a nicer one for less unless you look all over the US for one owned by someone who is 60 years old or older.

Thanks for all of the replies without the obligatory H-T flaming I went and checked the car out today and it's pretty damn nice considering it's a 91'. We agreed on $3,000 and that's with the stereo equipment included. I'll take some pics when I go back. It was raining today and he didn't want to bring them out after just waxing both of them. I think he just liked driving the CRX because he probably sweats like a **** with all of the rocks flying around on the roads here and the shitty drivers. Almost like a "disposable" car Well, anyway thanks again for all of the replies Here are some pics I took today and I look forward to visiting this section of the board more often pretty soon...

*edit-can't forget the *** shot

i would rape and pillage for that clean of a '91 crx. look at the seats, no tears. look at the rear quater panels, no rust. ah! i paid $1200 for just my shell, no motor, no trans, no front cross member, no seats, no rear interrior, and i thought i got a great deal.
