Is it true taht the ZC bottom end and the Y8 head will get a compression ratio of about 12:1? Isn't that relatively high? What does a ZC get for stock compression?

I just bought my first ZC... I am more used to the b16's 18's and H22's so the small stuff baffles me.

Dohc Zc or Sohc Zc?
If its the Dohc is not possible.
If its the sohc, the CR would be somewhere around 10.3:1.

 

in the most recent issue of Honda Tuning, they said that the sohc zc block and the sohc vtec head (can't remember if it was the z6 or y8, but prolly the y8) create a 12.1:1 compression....
I was a little baffled by it...but i haven't heard to many complaints about the info honda tuning puts out...they do have a high standard to live up to.

 

The numbers in honda tuning were with dohc zc pistons and a y8 head not just a plain sohc zc block.

 

ya,the comp will be that high with the dohc pistons in the sohc and the y8 head,pretty nice setup if you ask me...
