Default i need some HELP! What should i put into my motor!

I just bought a 94 gsr w/ 165XXX on it! it has a head gasket that bumps the compression down to 9:1 other than the 10:1 on a stock gsr. (the car was boosted) The guy that bought the car from also gave me some eagle rods for a b18c1 motor and a brand new honda gasket set FULL SET !!!

Im wondering should i just go ahead and build my motor? I wanted to put the rods in my car b/c they were FREE! but what kinda pistons should i use.... not too expensive but effective. (im going N/A by the way) Im im thinking of sending off my head to get port and polished also... or should I? also im getting a skunk 2 intake manifol and getting it tuned after i get everything on it! but what else should i put into the motor? valve springs? cams? but i have a budget of under $1,000 dollars including intake manifold and labor and ect!

sorry so long but i NEED HELP!!!

First of all you need to know what your goals are for the car (compression, horsepower, street/strip, drag etc.) than start from there, basically your asking people to give you opinions on what they think is good for there goals. With 1k with labor included your limited.

Well i dont really have a "goal" on horsepower and ill be taking it to the strip mabye once or twice, not very often! but i had a gsr eg hatch and i would like to hang w/ that. but im just looking to have a reliable motor because of the milage and durability. i was thinking about just putting the gasket set in to bump the compression up and put a manifold on and also mabye some cams! but any other opinions are welcome!!!
