i know this is too damn early to be even CONSIDERING about asking about anyone of these two products but,.......anyone kow a price range yet?

5Zigen header retails for $550, so the going price is prolly about $450-$500. It's a standard-type header in that it has a 2" collector like most US headers. It's all stainless also. I'm pretty sure the primaries and secondaries are about the same size as the A'pex and Greddy headers that it competes with. I dunno anything about Skunk's header...give them a call and they can give you more info. HTH.

How does that 5-Zigen header look like? It's a 4-2-1 design right?

dunno about that one, but the one that's currently available here in the US is a 2" collector 4-2-1 design. I don't know if they're importing the 2.5" collector one. I have the 5zigen at home and I'm pretty sure it said 50.8mm collector (2").
Trending Topics
5zigen are famous making exhaust system but for headers ....... they are not that great. I will go like Spoon , TypeONE , JDM 4 -1 or Mugen which we already have dynoplots to proof they work.
well like i said, i thought it was kinda early to start asking for reviews for these two headers. i'm happy skunk came out with a header but i'm also surprised that they came out with a header for the new wrx!!!
but back to the main topic here, i am interested in the type one headers that a&j have to offer along with some of the other really good brands. but i'm always interested in new products (curiosity kills me). i do think that if 5 zigen had a header over in japan with a 2.5" collector, it would probably be offered over here with a 2" collector...don't know why i think that, i just do!
thanks for the replies here guys

Why the hell people in Japan would want to run the when they have Spoon, Mugen, Toda, Feel, and other headers available for around the same price?
If you really interesting in some new header, take a look into the Tanabe header too.
As for the best header for a mildly modified R would be the JDM DC 4-1 header. It was one of the top 5 headers in the header test and their price is only 1/3 to 1/2 of other headers in the top 5. I mean if you aren't going all out with modification, why waste the extra $300-700 on the extra 1-2whps through out the rpm range.

The 5ZR header does come in a 2.5" collecyot in Japan but just the reputation is not that great cuz nobody is running them in Japan.
Well but he carries 5-Zigen products so maybe he is advertising for them.
So why not you sell your Spoon header and get the DC ? You probably can have extra money to spend of somethingelse if you sell the Spoon and get the DC.
This is a very simple idea , a little hp here and a little hp there then you make a bigger difference understand ?
Simon Yam from KYB HK is my very good friend , but his car is SLOW
but he just a very fast driver ( alot of wins for Karting and Formula Asia) who can make any brand name famous upon mountain roads. The typical HK "GRIPPERS".

I totally understand that every horsepower count in a race. But I recommended the JDM DC because he asked for MILDLY modified ITR. You know, money is a BIG issue to a lot of people here. Not many people can afford an $1000 intake, $1000 header, $2000 exhaust, and a $3000 coilover. A $300-700 is a big big difference to a lot of people. And I guess if his car is only MILDLY modified, I would assume he is not that much of a serious all out racer that look for every single whps out there. So I would think a lot of people would be happy to give up 1-2whps in exchange for $300-700 more in the bank account!!
If money is not an issue and he want every horsepower out of the header, I would recommend him to go custom and get a Hytech header, it is ONLY around $500 more than a Spoon, Toda, and the Mugen one, right?
BTW, if anyone want to buy my all dented up Spoon header, I would be happy to sell it!!
