i just bought a 96-98 civic clock came with the connector...... i know what the 4 wires are bout i dont know what 2 do? can anyone help me asap while my cliamte control is off? i need a detailed explaination thanx

my guess:
- ground
- ignition +
- illumination
- backup power

 

its says search is unavailable now and yea i no wat those 4 plugs r but i need like a write up 2 help me install it.......

 

dantastic just told you what they did
on the back of the clock the words to what plug does what is written...just connect them to the stereo wiring.

 

Where did you get the clock and where does it go?

 

It's not even an option here, and it goes beside the radio where the little pocket is.

 

"VTI444" or something like that used to sell them on here, they go to the right of the radio where the climate control is(replace the little usless pocket). If you look around you can still find them. I think pdiggitydogg(he posted in here already) bought one from VTI444, he might be able to get in touch with that user. It is that mad tite EDM **** foo...

I just recently did the install of the clock in my 97 hatch. There are 4 wires in the back. One for the ground, one for the power, one for memory and one for dimmer. I just hooked the ground(black), Power(red) and Memory(yellow) to my stereo wiring, On the back of the plug of the clock it should indicate which wire does what. Also theres a dimmer wire, which i believe is orange you dont have to hook it up because it is bright enough. But if you want to im sure you can hook it up to the dimmer wire Hope this helps and good look on the install. Im happy with mine

 

thanx yea my friend wired it up 2 the radio plug but 4 sum reason when u take the key out the ignition and the clock displays the same time it was when it was off i dont no if u understand wat im sayin........for example i put it at 1......turned it off and wait like 5 mins and when i turn the ignition on it still shows 1.... please help me

It needs constant power to the memory lead.

 

i use that pocket to hold my cell phone. not useless to me...

damn thats crazy. i want one now too! but i have a oem radio. then what? ill have 2 clocks? right next to each other. ill be like the clock man!

 

this is a cinch. i went to the acura dealer that i used to be a tech at and found a tl dash harness. i immediately found the clock connector which is the same four pin plug that you need and also has the same color wires as your dash harness. all i had to do was swap the two middle pins because i wanted to keep the wires the same color as the dash wires. then just spliced them in and voila, i have a properly working clock that is wired like factory. i only hooked the dimmer wire up because when i drive at night i'm **** about things being as dim as possible in my interior, less fatigue on the eyes. i even press my air distribution buttons to where they are all popped out and there is no light.
by the way:
battery power is the white w/blue stripe on dash harness
ign is the red on radio harness or i believe it is white w/yellow stripe
dim is the red w/black stripe on dash harness
and ground needless to say is the black.

Yeah i k now what your saying. The stereo wires there should be a yellow which is a constant memory wire. This wire keeps all your radios memory and keeps the time up to date when you turn off your car. Connect this yellow wire from the stereo to the ignition wire this should do the trick. On the back of the clock it should say ign this is where you should connect the yellow wire to.Hope this helps...

why did you just say to connect the b+ constant to the ign on the clock. seems a little off. if you just follow the stereo harness to where it's spliced onto the dash harness, you will find that b+ is the white/blue wire. you do not want to connect the b+ to the ign terminal on the clock.
